Finally today we acquired a small group of Brambling, around 5 birds were present on and off through out the day. A mild sunny afternoon also produced the first Bumble Bee of the year, a Bombus terrestris queen.
I wonder if the reason the birds have become more frequent (well turned up anyway LOL!) is that we are now reaching the tail end of winter (in theory) and the food sources in the fields and woods are becoming exhausted?
