6th Feb… Garden

Well it may be a crap pic but it does document the first Brambling of the year in the garden. This winter has been the worst for this species since we began to attract them annually.

Other species over the last week have been just the common birds.

This last rather blurry image shows the success story of this winter, we never got regular Long-tailed Tits at all till the last 4 years, then they were irregular till 2 years ago when a pair attempted to nest next door, then last year they started to build a nest a foot from our front window but sadly next doors builders arrived and their presence caused them to abandon the just started nest. However this winter we have had a small group visiting the feeders regularly throughout.
